Fun place to hold a small event with friends--right next to the river. Good food from trucks.
One of my favorite places to grab a beer or a bourbon and ginger (with their fresh muddle ginger!!), chill by the river, and listen to some great music!! The food trucks there offer some great food and their new porch is great in the summer (with windows open) and winter (with them closed and the heater on). Cool outdoor activities for the family and dogs welcome!
Guested here several times .... love it! Outdoor grills (BYOF, which is wonderful) and drinks from the bar are great ways to spend an afternoon or evening by the river. The casual atmosphere reminds me of the Asheville of the mid-70's: friendly folks and families, no pretensions allowed!
Far and away my favorite bar in Asheville. You won't find another place like the Bywater. You wouldn't expect it but their cocktails are outstanding. Highly, highly recommend the Rosemary Gin and Tonic, the best cure for a hot day. Raft, kayak, canoe, bike, skate, walk -or if you must drive- to this place immediately if you haven't been here.
Great vibe for summer, usually a great food truck in the lot, kid-friendly, tasty beers! Best to go on a sunny afternoon than on a Friday night.
Perfect spot for outdoor beers/cocktails. Very low key; not a spot for those looking for an upscale venue. No food served, so you must be a member to get it, but memberships are extremely inexpensive (maybe even free...can't remember). Outdoor games such as horseshoes, ring game, disc golf goal for the kid in you. Love seeing live music on the patio. Grills outdoors so you can bring your own food/fixins. Tends to be a little too packed and somewhat overcrowded on weekends, so you may have to wait to get inside.
