Take the tour at their factory. It was fantastic (and you have the opportunity to sample four of their chocolate bars).

Yep, it's the dessert spot you HAVE to take all of your out-of-town-visitors to ( unless you don't want them coming back :) ). They're open late and weekends have live music. The line is always out the door, but it moves fairly quickly.. and where else in the world can you get a liquid truffle, YEP liquid sipping chocolate... veeery rich, and I personally think it's just strange to drink a small glass of melted chocolate, but the Salted Maple is PERFECT and share it along with a few of their other goodies... YUM... we also always order one of their seasonal prepared desserts under the counter served in a wine glass... or try something different like Lavender Creme Brulee... or Salted Caramel sipping chocolate, which is a coconut milk based sipping chocolate... unlimited options :)

This place is one of the best establishments in Asheville. I am so proud to live in the city where this place is located. If any of my friends or family are ever in town, I always recommend making a visit to this place. Such a unique spot with so much character. Highly suggest the perfect chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a French press coffee. Great beer and wine selection as well!

The Chocolate Lounge is my favorite spot in Asheville, no question. I'm not a fan of drinking chocolate so I can't speak to that, but the French press coffee is excellent (no sugar or cream needed) and the cakes, brownies, etc are uniformly divine. My favorite way to do the Chocolate Lounge is to order coffee and a single cayenne truffle (sorry, I don't remember the name of that one, but it's FABULOUS). Yum! When friends come in from out of town this is where I take them :)
